Pearl Jam 2000 Bootleg Series
parts iii & iv: mood shows & classics

by: steven jacobetz

Pearl Jam's Bootleg Series is chock full of material, and every album would be great to have. Still, it's nearly impossible for the average fan to bite the bullet and cough up the money for them all.

In this, the conclusion of our look at the Pearl Jam official bootlegs, we look at parts 3 & 4 - mood shows & classics.

And, be sure to check out:
Part One - The Special Occasions
Part Two - One-of-a-Kind Moments

part iii: mood shows
These are concerts that have a particular mood or theme which don't fit into other categories.

Poland 1

Poland 2

Shows #15 & 16
06.15.00 - Katowice, Poland
06.16.00 - Katowice, Poland

I already talked about the second Polish show, but if you put the two nights together, you hear a whopping 50 different songs with only seven repeats. If you want a lot of material, but only a few shows, pick these.

part iv: classics
Finally, these last three are just great long shows with few mistakes, great setlists, and great atmospheres which everyone will enjoy anytime no matter what your mood.

If you want some video, the official tour video, Pearl Jam Touring Band 2000 came out in May, but I think Pearl Jam is a band much better heard than seen. The video footage I've seen on TV is quite dull. You had to be there.
- buy the dvd
- buy the vhs

Whatever your preferences are, these bootlegs will have to tide us over for quite a while. Outside of a rare benefit show, there are no plans for a tour until probably 2003, so be thankful and make these last.
